Bahrain

Bahrain still has no personal income tax and, for now, no general corporate tax, with a UK treaty, CRS reporting and living costs well below Dubai's. The catch is that change is coming: a 10% corporate tax on larger local companies has been drafted for 2027, big multinationals already pay a 15% top-up tax, VAT is 10%, and the golden residency route is less proven than the UAE's.

Latitax verdict

No personal income tax and one of the Gulf's easiest, cheapest residence routes.

Ideal for: Investors and entrepreneurs who want the Gulf at a lower cost than Dubai.
