Monaco

Monaco levies no personal income tax on residents who are genuinely established there, so dividends, gains and interest from a UK portfolio or company are untaxed locally. The catch is cost and proof: residence needs a Monaco home and a Monaco bank reference, banks in practice expect a large deposit, and French nationals stay taxable in France. There is no UK double tax treaty, only an information-exchange agreement.

Latitax verdict

No personal income tax for non-French residents and no wealth tax, in the heart of Europe.

Ideal for: Very wealthy individuals and families who want Europe without the tax.
